Missions

God’s instrument to reach every tribe, tongue, people, and nation is his church. He gave us a beautifully balanced command to accomplish this purpose, the Great Commission. While not everyone is called to go and stay long-term as missionaries, we encourage and challenge everyone to consider this calling in their lives because we know the need is so great. There still remain many people all over the world with little to no access to the gospel.

At First Arnold, we desire to step into this gap and play our part in seeing God’s mission fulfilled. We do this through equipping and sending mission teams to serve with international believers, churches, and missionaries all over the world and supporting their work. Our prayer is that you would hear God’s command to go and consider your own life and what he wants for you. If you would like more information or to serve with us, please contact us at missions@fbca.us.

Upcoming Fundraising Opportunities

Czech Republic - November 22-Dec 2 2024

November 22, 2024 to December 02, 2024
Czech Republic
Located just 45 minutes outside of Prague, the city of Rokycany has managed to keep its small town status, boasting a population of less than 15,000. Having only just emerged from Communist rule in 1990, Communist influence can be seen in both the culture and architecture, with Rokycany’s communist era tenant buildings standing in stark contrast to its storybook town center. There are many cultural challenges in meeting ministry goals in this area. During communism, it wasn’t safe for people to talk about their beliefs to anyone, even their families, so there are generations of Czechs that have never heard the gospel at all, causing the Czech Republic to be considered one of the most atheistic countries in the world and Czech people to generally be very closed to the gospel. Eric and Lauren Coale and their two sons, Hudson and Raylan, were sent out as missionaries from First Arnold in October 2021 to the Czech Republic, and now call Rokycany their home. The Coale family is working with a small team of believers to plant a church in their city, where no known evangelical presence exists. While their ministry there is young, First Arnold is excited to partner with them through Day Camps, English tutoring, relationship building, and encouragement of local believers. We pray that one day, the church in Rokycany will be healthy enough to begin planting healthy churches in nearby cities, and that as these healthy churches multiply, Jesus' name will be proclaimed throughout the Czech Republic.

South America - March 12-23, 2025

March 12, 2025 to March 23, 2025
South America
Our partnership in South America began in 2018 when our partners answered God's call to serve as church planters. Their mission is to serve the poor and least-reached people of the region. Although the people of South America are largely “reached” with the gospel of Jesus, the area is home to some of the geographically hardest to access people in the world. It's hard to believe that today there still exist pockets of the world that have little to no access to God's word and God's people. People exist in those pockets! Our partners work with national believers in order to plant healthy churches. They serve in rural, rustic regions with the hope of making disciples who will make more disciples as healthy churches are established to carry the Gospel unto the ends of the earth. Churches and people in South America can be evangelized, discipled, trained and sent out to try to reach the people of their own native land. God’s Word is powerful and God uses common, ordinary people to carry the message of salvation in His Son to the ends of the earth. We as a church body along with our missions partners desire to love, serve, share, disciple, raise up leaders, and plant healthy churches that will love God by obeying his command to go.

Liberia - MAY 2025

May 24, 2025 to June 02, 2025
West Africa
Liberia is a country struggling to recover from two civil wars almost back to back finally ending in 2003. Roads and infrastructure are still lacking in many parts of the country. Villages are buried deep in the tropical forest, many of which are only accessible by foot. It is estimated that the majority of rural Liberians are illiterate, making study of scripture difficult. We are organizing sports camps that will focus on biblical teachings and share the gospel through various sports activities.

Using the Oral Storying Method, our team will train local church plant leaders to tell a set of Bible stories that lay out the explain the biblical events spanning from Creation to today's church, leaving them with a tool that can be replicated in their own churches and used to advance God's Kingdom in rural Liberia.
